Not sure if this is going to sound strange or sweet or somewhere in between, but I've been sitting on this for way too long, and it just felt wrong to keep holding onto it.
We were never really close. We talked sometimes, crossed paths the way people do in school, and somehow that was enough. You left a mark I never fully shook off, and I think it's because you never tried to be memorable. Those are usually the people you end up not being able to forget.
What always got me was the way you moved through things, like you already knew exactly where you were headed. Most people just talk about what they want. You actually went and did it. I remember watching that from a distance and thinking, she's different.
You were never just someone I knew in passing to me. Not a face in a hallway, not a name I'd forget in a few years. You were, and honestly still are, one of those people who makes you believe good people actually exist. The kind who crosses your mind on some random quiet evening for no particular reason at all.
I'm not writing this expecting anything, and I don't want anything back either. I just wanted you to know that somewhere out there, someone's been quietly rooting for you this whole time. For your happiness, your dreams, everything you're still figuring out and becoming.
A few moments of you
